Project overview:
37 Glenelg Spur is one of largest stand-alone residential projects I’ve work on in my career.
During the Design process a lot of thought had to go into the way the steel would be transported to site.
Glenelg Spur is a small lane in the hills of Christchurch.
The House itself is at the end of this lane.
Our detailers designed in a way where steel members were no longer than 13mtrs adding extra Hera bolted connections then approved by the engineer.
The steel was transported by two Hiab’s and two flat deck trucks in the space of 6 hours to a laydown area where the future tennis court will be.
Our Staff then plucked the steel from the upper level with a crane for the erection process.
Total build time 2 weeks including install of the tricky floating stair.
The Residence also has a pool house on one side of it which the Architect decided to change the roof design mid-fabrication. Several members were reworked, and this did not affect delivery date.
