Lake Brunner

Category:
Residential

Location:
Moana, Lake Brunner

Size:
36t

Project overview:

The project is a large 2-storey residential property on the banks of Lake Brunner. Structural steel is used as the building’s columns, beams, and rafters. It is a 2-storey family home with expansive glass balconies and doors facing over the lake.

Structural steel was used for strength and durability for this project. The front balcony that connects all rooms has a lattice truss over 10 metres in length that supports this balcony. The fine design of steel has allowed open-plan living on a large scale throughout the property with indoor-outdoor flow.

Structural steel has allowed many types of cladding to be used on the exterior as the steel forms all the strength of the building. Structural steel made the installation extremely quick as all members were trucked straight to site at Moana. The steel members were also pre-primed and external members arc sprayed.

H&S value came in the form of a very accurately designed building which was erected in under 5 days. The key challenges were the weather and proximity to the lake, also the transportation of steel to the west coast.
